2016 Doughnut Day Fun Runs Race Report:

Another successful Doughnut Run in the books.  This year marks our 5th year of the event and it was quite possibly the nicest weather that we have ever had.  The turnout this year was great, I failed to get an official count but I would guess that over 50 people were out running the various distances and a handful of people arriving early to get additional mileage.

This was despite the fact that I did nearly nothing to promote the event this year mostly due to the birth of my first child, who continues to keep Mom and Dad busy these days.

Avery was excited for the Doughnut run too.

One of the great things about the Dough Day Fun Runs is the generosity of the runners involved.  Again this year was no exception.

We had both food donations that we will be sending to the Little Kitchen Food Shelf as well as $125 dollars donated by runners that will go to Tree House Youth Outreach organization.  I have decided to match the $125 bringing us to $250 donated.  I was a volunteer at Tree House for over five years and have got to witness to positive impact that the organization and staff have on the youth that it works with.

A big thanks to all who were involved and especially to those who donated.  Feel free to leave a comment or suggestions for future runs.  Hope to see everyone again next year.
